Why did you start your business?
B.T.R. stands for "be BOLD, TENACIOUS, & RESILIENT," my parents' personal mantra. I started B.T.R. Bar in their honor. Five years ago, my parents were both diagnosed with rare forms of cancer. As their caretaker & working full-time, I was constantly on-the-move. I was inhaling so-called "better-for-you" protein bars, high in sugar, with ingredients I couldn't
pronounce. With a background in food science & nutrition, I craved something that not only had
better ingredients, but also served a functional purpose. That's how B.T.R. Bar was born. As a simple idea in a hospital cafeteria.
Do you have any goals or plans for you business in the next 5 years?
Such a great question! Over the next 5 years, I plan to expand the B.T.R. product line to include 2-3 more
functional flavors and other protein-packed snacks and bites for people to snack mindfully from A.M. to
P.M. Our goal is to pave the way for a new concept of snacking: functional snacking. Snacks should
always be delicious and something you want to eat, but what if they could do more for us?
